What Chapter Advisory delivered

The Bremer Battery Project involved the development of an 850 MW / 3,400 MWh utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in South East Queensland, designed to strengthen grid stability, reliability and energy security by storing excess generation and supplying electricity during periods of higher demand. The project required the coordinated progression of land, planning and environmental approvals, grid connection, engineering, commercial arrangements, procurement, financing and community engagement toward Financial Investment Decision and delivery. As a major renewable energy enabling project, Bremer Battery was structured to support Queensland’s transition to a more resilient energy system while creating a commercially viable, investment-ready infrastructure asset.

Project outcome

Chapter Advisory provided Project Director and strategic project support services to assist Libra Energy in progressing the Bremer Battery Project through its development phase. Services included project governance, executive reporting, development approvals support, project controls, procurement planning, commercial and contract negotiations, risk and schedule management, stakeholder coordination and strategic advisory. The engagement also supported discussions with investors, EPC contractors, suppliers and delivery partners, together with the development of project execution planning and decision-making frameworks. Additional specialist resources were made available as required across commercial, cost, procurement, approvals, engineering, risk, scheduling and operational readiness disciplines to support the project’s progression toward FID and delivery.
